Control Room Operator Emergency Response
(CROER)
Target Group
The target group for CRO Emergency Response Competence Assessment are personnel who have been deemed ready by their employer to be formally assessed in the role of a CRO during an emergency situation.
Course Aims and Objectives
The aim and objective of the CRO Emergency Response Competence Assessment are to formally assess the candidate in the role of the CRO during an emergency situation in a simulated environment.
Pre-Requisites
The following pre-requisites are required:

A formal declaration from the candidate’s employer confirming that the candidate has achieved the performance criteria in Element 1.1 in the workplace, satisfied the core essential knowledge and asset type knowledge requirements and that the candidate has been deemed ready for formal assessment against Elements 1. 2 to 1.6.
Assessment Process
The Assessments are conducted using a simulator of the Candidate’s own Asset Type using the candidate’s own Procedures.
Scenarios are prepared using relevant information from the Client Company Safety Case and Emergency Response Plan
for the candidate’s appropriate asset type(s).
There are no specific timings for the duration of the CRO ER assessments. However, sufficient time must be arranged in
order to ensure that candidates can be suitably assessed during a minimum of 2 and maximum of 3 attempts.
