
Assessor Initial Training
(AIT)


Target Group
This programme is designed for individuals within an organisation who are designated to be, or are seeking to be, a COMPETENCE ASSESSOR.
Course Objectives
By the end of the training, learners will be able to:
• Understand the principles of competence assessment and the roles involved
• Identify and evaluate evidence sources
• Plan and conduct assessments
• Make informed assessment decisions
• Record outcomes and provide constructive feedback
Course Modules
The program comprises three mandatory units:
1. Introduction to Assessment – covering principles, roles, evidence sources
2. Planning & Carrying Out the Assessment – including techniques to collect and evaluate evidence
3. Feedback & Record Keeping – proper documentation and delivering constructive feedback
Pre-Requisites
No formal delegate pre-requisites, although delegates must provide evidence that they have access to a minimum of two candidates undergoing an assessment process in their workplace
Performance Assessment
Delegates attending this Assessor Initial training programme will be given a series of explanations and demonstrations that will identify what they are expected to know and do.
This will be followed by practical exercises allowing delegates to practice their skills, knowledge and understanding of the competence assessor role.
