Target Group
The WORKING AT HEIGHTS APPRECIATION COURSE training is designed for:
• Yard management staff.
• Yard supervisors who have a responsibility for any works that involve working at heights.
• Safety Officers.
Course Aims & Objectives
After this training, the Learners should be able to:

Understand the definition of working at heights.

Understand the basic considerations associated with working at heights.

Understand the skills, knowledge and experience expected of employees who are involved in working at heights.

Understand the difference between passive and active protection.

Understand the need for good works planning.

Understand the basics of the employer/employee obligations.
Course Outline
This programme is designed for those involved in any discipline that works at heights in a shipyard or fabrication yard. The course is designed as a safety awareness appreciation course rather than being a compliance-based training programme. It is the responsibility of the employer and its employees to comply with all relevant OSHA/safety rules and regulations, as well as formal discipline training requirements in the jurisdiction in which they work.

Written Examination - open book.
