The awareness training program, called WERA (Workplace Emergency Response and Awareness), is designed to provide employees with formal training on the significance of preparing for and responding to emergency situations in the workplace. The program aims to equip personnel with the necessary knowledge and initial response actions to effectively handle emergencies. Here are the key topics covered in the WERA program:

Emergency Preparedness: This segment focuses on understanding the importance of being prepared for various types of emergencies that may occur in the workplace. It may include topics such as risk assessment, emergency planning, and establishing evacuation procedures.

Organizing an Initial Response: This part of the training provides guidance on how to organize and coordinate an initial response to an emergency. It covers topics such as establishing incident command, activating emergency protocols, and ensuring employee safety.

Basic First Aid and Casualty Handling: Employees will receive training in basic first aid techniques and learn how to handle casualties during an emergency. This may involve teaching CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), treating wounds, and providing initial medical assistance.

Communication and Leadership: Effective communication is crucial during emergency situations. This training component emphasizes the importance of clear and concise communication, both within the organization and with external emergency services. It also covers leadership skills necessary to guide employees during emergencies.

Fire Safety and Hazard Identification: This section focuses on fire safety measures and the identification of workplace hazards. Employees will learn about fire prevention, evacuation procedures, the proper use of fire extinguishers, and how to identify potential hazards that may contribute to emergencies.

Simulated Fire Extinguisher Training: This hands-on training involves practicing the use of fire extinguishers in simulated fire scenarios. Employees will learn how to select and operate the appropriate fire extinguisher for different types of fires.

By covering these topics, the WERA program aims to enhance employees' knowledge and skills to respond effectively in emergency situations, ensuring the safety and well-being of all individuals in the workplace.
