Course Outline

 

The Fire Extinguisher Inspection and Maintenance course equips participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively manage fire extinguishers in various environments. It covers the importance of inspection and maintenance, legal and regulatory requirements, inspection procedures, maintenance tasks, troubleshooting techniques, and emergency response planning. Through practical demonstrations and exercises, participants learn to identify common defects, apply troubleshooting methods, and integrate fire extinguisher management into emergency plans. The course emphasizes best practices and continuous improvement to enhance fire safety practices, providing participants with a comprehensive understanding of fire extinguisher types, inspection protocols, and proactive approaches to maintaining a safe environment.

Course Objectives

 

The objective of this course is to equip participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively inspect, maintain, and manage fire extinguishers in various environments. By the end of the course, participants should be able to:

 

  • Understand the importance of fire extinguisher inspection and maintenance in fire safety.

  • Identify different types of fire extinguishers and their appropriate uses.

  • Demonstrate proficiency in inspecting fire extinguishers for compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure fire extinguishers are in proper working condition.

  • Recognize common issues and defects in fire extinguishers and take appropriate corrective actions.

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the roles and responsibilities associated with fire extinguisher management.

Pre-Requisite:

There are no pre-requisites for the FEIAM program.

Appraislal Process:

This is a no pass or fail outcome however instructors will gauge and reinforce learner understanding by way each learner will perform how to inspect the Fire Extinguisher and demonstrate the use of the Fire Extinguisher using the PASS Method.

Certification:

Learners will receive a UK registered NOCN Certificate Level 2 for fire extinguisher inspection and maintenance. Certificates are awarded by NOCN in the UK and will be forwarded post course in soft copy to the individuals and/or the client point of contact.
