(EMTL)

Course Outline / Target Group
The course will provide Learners with formal training in the strategy, tactics, command and control, communications and coordination elements used in the management of major emergencies.
The course is designed for personnel who fill the Emergency Coordinator (EC) or Incident Controller (IC) role, traditionally referred to as the ‘Emergency Manager Team Leader’ (EMTL) whose responsibilities include the support of any ‘site’ should they have an emergency incident and is based on the principles of the Incident Command System (ICS). The EC will be supported by an ‘Emergency Management Team’ (EMT).
Course Aims & Objectives
To equip the EMTL with the basic knowledge, skills and techniques that are required to be an effective member of a company’s Emergency/Incident Management Team.
The Learners will be able to:

Understand major emergencies and the principals of ICS.

Understand EMTL roles and responsibilities.

Understand the need for good communications and information management.

Understand the ECC facilities and equipment.
The practical elements will enable them to understand the need to put in place predetermined plans during the Activation Phase (when the emergency alarm has been raised), through to the Deactivation Phase/Stand Down in the role of the Emergency Coordinator in a number of specific types of emergency scenarios.
